Auberge Basque

Saint Pee sur Nivelle, France

Nestled in the Basque Country, the Auberge Basque reflects the philosophy of its creators, Cédric and Marion Béchade—a vision where well-being and gastronomy harmonize with nature and sustainability.

This tranquil retreat, facing Mount Lahrune, goes beyond hospitality, embodying the couple’s commitment to authenticity, ecological responsibility, and cultural heritage. As part of the Relais & Châteaux collection, the Auberge is a sanctuary where tradition meets modernity. The Béchades’ approach to sustainability is woven into every aspect, from water-saving showers to energy-efficient aerothermal systems.

Their renovations are not just aesthetic but deeply ethical, demonstrating a profound respect for the planet. Marion’s personally designed guest rooms further this philosophy, offering spaces of peace and reflection, thoughtfully curated to inspire tranquility. The Auberge Basque is more than a luxury escape; it’s a manifestation of values—where every detail, from waste reduction to serene decor, is a deliberate choice. In this haven, the Béchades invite guests to reconnect with themselves and nature, embodying a philosophy that true luxury lies in thoughtful living and a deep respect for the earth and its inhabitants.

The view from the garden is beautiful. The room was comfortable and quiet, the shower room very nice. Convenient location to stop over while travelling around the French Basque country. The swimming pool looked inviting.
